One of three icebergs as seen early on the first day of spring 20016 by Eric Abbott.
It’s officially spring according to the calendar and the sideways snow in Gander as I write this post. Welcome to Newfoundland!
The two peaked pinnacle iceberg and huge flat tabular iceberg have been hanging out up in Bonavista for two months and now are joined by a third iceberg as proven by the ever smiling Eric Abbott.
Thanks Puffinman for all you contribute to the group. I’ll let your pictures speak for themselves.
This picture by Frank Johnson speaks for itself. Bonavista, NL March 2016Jeanene Walsh caught a small calving as ice fell off the right hand side of this berg on March 1, 2016. Still huge, it has been grounded in the Bonavista and Elliston area for over 6 weeks!
Again, a beautiful March day and another great angle by Linda Ryan. Beautiful Bonavista, Newfoundland. Thanks for sharing!
Sometimes objects in the foreground help with perspective but E. Denise Mouland found a great day to play with this berg. Iceberg finding and photographing is fun!
With bergs still hanging out in Bonavista and Maberly we might manage a few more posts before they move off land. Stay tuned or check out facebook page for current posts.
So near and yet so far. Iceberg as seen by Trace S., January 31.2016
We’re Facebook friends who met over her great photography in the Lumsden area of Newfoundland. If there’s an iceberg around, Trace is going to get a picture of it and it’s going to be good.
Last year she posted a picture on January 24, 2015, my birthday. This year, she and her aunt, Louise managed to find a berg in Cape Freels on January 14. Then they hunted around to get the best picture they could from Darlene Hillier!
Cape Freels, NL January 14, 2016 by Darlene Hillier.
After a huge blizzard on Saturday, she was out bird watching with her friend Janna. Yes, I see birds!
This is how she spent her Sunday and I’m so grateful she shares well with others. Thanks girl!
